A Year of Scribbling

In short: Huge Axeman marks a year of public diary entries. Visitors’ reviews of The Dunny, shown on this site, single out its Aussie theme, puzzles and gamesmasters; the diary gets a new entry about once a month.

Thursday. A whole year since my diary went public. Kev says people have been reading it. I knew they would. I write like I chop wood: often, and with feeling.

Kev also showed me the reviews. People write about my dunny on the internet and give it stars. Stars! Like a hotel! I read every one. They love the Aussie feel. They love the puzzles. They love the gamesmasters, which is a bit much, frankly, because the gamesmasters didn’t build the dunny.

Not one of them mentions me by name. Well, a couple do, but only to say I’m “unhinged”. I looked it up. It means “free”. I’ll take it.

I’ll keep writing. About once a month, Kev reckons, which suits me. A man needs time between entries to be magnificent.

To everyone who’s been in my dunny this year: thanks for coming. To everyone who left a review: I’ve framed it. To everyone who called it “a shed”: I know who you are.
