No Selfies in the Dunny

In short: Huge Axeman meets the phone rule. Phones, smartwatches and cameras go in free lockers before The Dunny, and the gamesmaster takes the team photo afterwards. Every booking is private to one group, so you never play with strangers.

Wednesday. Outrageous development. They make the tour groups put their phones in a locker before they go near my dunny.

Do you know what that means? No selfies. A whole hour in the most photogenic outhouse in Australia, standing right where the Axeman has stood, and nobody gets a single picture. I said to Kev, how are people meant to prove they were here? Kev said, the team photo.

Turns out the gamesmaster takes a photo of every group when they come out. With a sign. And a frame, if you like. I looked through a stack of them this arvo. Very good-looking people. Not one of them as good-looking as me, but you can’t have everything.

And another thing: it’s one group at a time, always. You don’t get stuck in the dunny with strangers. You get stuck with your own mob, which, frankly, is worse, because you have to see them at Christmas.

I’ve asked if I can be in the team photos. Just at the back. Just my good side. Kev says nobody has seen my good side in years. I said that’s what makes it valuable.
